This elopement was, I think, what many couples dream of when they think of eloping. These two Brooklynites ran off together to Glen Oaks Big Sur, and stayed in the most adorable super private log cabin next to a river. They were married in a spot they chose, in a clover field surrounded by redwoods. Although they bypassed a lot of the steps of a larger wedding, they kept the details that were important to them. Stunning dress, jewelry, shoes, florals, cake, and romantic secluded spot. It was sweet and special and calm and magical. It was the first time I have photographed a groom helping a bride into her dress, and I loved that too. My husband and I walked down the aisle together too, so maybe I am biased because I love the “we’re in this together” of it. Other things I won’t forget were the outdoor clawfoot tubs (SO Big Sur as lots of the houses here have outdoor clawfoot tubs…it’s a thing), and the five kittens that were hanging on their patio enjoying the warm fire. It was a day that truly reminded me why I am privileged to do what I do.
